Maine Veterans' Homes in Augusta is offering a $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus for full-time 2nd and 3rd Shift CNAs. The bonus will be paid in three (3) installments over 18 months.
Why are we in need of CNAs?
We are hiring for our new state-of-the-art facility, opening September 2021. MVH - Augusta will be the first of its kind in Maine to deliver long-term care though the small house model. This model is organized around offering residents a way to maximize normal living environments and routines, providing a sense of community and better quality of life. The campus will consist of 4 villages, with two or four 'houses' per village, and each house will accommodate 10-15 residents. A Community Center will provide residents with "destinations" similar to those in the communities where they once lived, including a chapel, Veteran’s lounge, ice cream parlor, movie theater, and much more!
What can our CNA’s expect in the small house?
A partnership with a support team of licensed nurses, therapists, medical director, social services, activities and dietary.
The best staff to resident ratio.
Ability to provide person-centered, continuity of care, with minimal floating.
Design elements that enable a safer living and working environment, including private resident rooms and bathrooms with ceiling lifts.
CNA position overview:
Provides personal care and services to residents in accordance with resident needs, individual care plans and the philosophy of supportive and resident-centered care.
Helps residents with activities of daily living including personal care, bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom assistance, light housekeeping, and group and individual activities.
Communicates with and responds to residents about their needs.
