The Role:

Acute Rehab Registered Nurse, Per Diem

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Medical Center is offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our close-knit and engaged Rehabilitation Team. We provide a supportive environment for new graduates and experienced RNs. Our patient’s medical acuity facilitates the growth of clinical skills while working on a great team.

We are a hospital-based Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit with 12 beds. Acute inpatient rehab provides 24-hour Registered Nursing care with close physician oversight for patients participating in intensive physical rehabilitation gaining back their independence. We care for patients with a variety of diagnoses from stroke to major multiple trauma. We are a Stroke Rehabilitation Certified Unit.

The Work:

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

You Have:

• A valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required• At least one year of Acute Care experience preferred
