Position Description

The Polysomnographic (RPSGT) Technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders involving all aspects of polysomnography testing, including diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, patient education and provides findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures. The Polysomnographic (RPSGT) Technologist works independently performing their principal duties under general technical supervision.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). One year in sleep medicine or as Polysomnographic technologist or combination of experience and education. Will consider CoARC accredited program graduate with CRT/RRT or CAAHEP accredited program graduate in place of experience. Modality: Performs all modalities of Sleep procedures in the laboratory. CPSGT, RST or CRT/RRT will require successful completion of a national registry examination as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSG T) within 18 months of hire.

Preferred Requirements

An associate degree or higher preferred. RPSGT preferred Experience in hospital based sleep center 3 years experience Experience working in Pediatrics.
