About the role

If we thought of CPF as a virtual insurance company, it would be up there with the largest commercial and rural insurers in New Zealand. This role would be at the forefront of the brand, ensuring that we are on a path to success. Exciting, right?

This is both a rare and exciting opportunity it’s like you are running a business within a business. You’ll be responsible for driving and implementing strategy while maintaining operational objectives. Success in this role will be largely due to developing strong and collaborative relationships with our incredible external partners, ensuring smooth delivery from an internal/operational perspective. We’re looking for someone who can negotiate the best deals and provide commerciallysuccessful products for our customers to be delivered through our national retail network.

What the day will look like

  • Delivering a sustainable CPF strategy that’s aligned to our clients and business goals.

  • As our CPF leader, work closely with our carriers to operationalise our CPF strategy and drive performance optimisation.

  • In collaboration with our Product and Platform teams create best-in-class client solutions and ensure and continually review and improve our CPF product set.

  • Work closely with our national retail network to support the delivery of the CPF value proposition to our clients.

  • Develop methods to educate and upskill our colleagues and leaders on CPF.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Senior leadership experience coming from within the insurance sector or financial services.

  • Experience in leading products and platforms and the ability to continually improve and innovate product offerings.

  • A well-established network of relationships across the industry and a sound understanding of how to utilise and leverage these for better business and client outcomes.

  • Strong engagement and communication skills and being able to effectively educate and influence.

  • A confident negotiator, who understands how to be agile and proactive in finding effective solutions.

  • A high degree of commercial competence and proficient business planning capabilities and the ability to be effective at both an operational and strategic level.
