Job Summary: The Material Handler/Forklift Operator at Alvic USA plays a critical role in the safe and efficient handling of materials and products within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This position involves operating forklifts and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials, as well as assisting with inventory management and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Material Handler/Forklift Operator will adhere to safety protocols, follow operational procedures, and collaborate with team members to support logistics and production operations. Key Responsibilities: Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials within the warehouse or production area. Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage racks using forklifts and ensure proper stacking and securing of materials. Transport materials to designated locations and verify quantities against shipping/receiving documents. Inventory Management: Assist in counting and recording inventory levels accurately using handheld devices or inventory management systems. Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, stock replenishment, and location transfers. Report any discrepancies or issues related to inventory to supervisors or warehouse management. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines for forklift operation and warehouse activities. Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow housekeeping standards to promote a safe work environment. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse personnel, supervisors, and other team members to prioritize tasks and fulfill customer orders. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve operational issues. Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, such as picking/packing orders, staging materials, or general labor tasks. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and equipment, such as refueling, battery charging, and lubrication. Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions to maintenance staff or supervisors promptly. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Forklift certification or training is required. Experience: Previous experience as a forklift operator/material handler in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred. Skills: Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures. Attention to detail and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying materials. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as necessary. Team-oriented with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
