Continental Production Manager - OESL in Auburn, Indiana

  • Provide leadership and direction for all operations unit staff and associates as well as break down and implementation of the company’s strategy and values to operations unit level

  • Development and implementation of efficient operations unit organization (e.g., organizational structures, procedures, processes) according to standards

  • Planning (e.g., shift / personnel planning, further production planning and control tasks to be done by SCM) and operation of all production and rework processes and equipment (e.g., mixing, calendaring, extruding, making-up, pressing, vulcanization, assembly, …) according to standards (e.g., production flow plan, production control plan, work instructions) and planning (e.g., production plan and orders)

  • Operation of in-process quality control and final inspection according to standards and planning

  • Operation of internal material handling and transportation (internal logistic) for semi-finished goods (raw materials and finished goods are excluded) according to standards and planning

  • Operation of production data acquisition (e.g., order, machine, process or quality data) according to standards

  • Responsible for daily activities of supervisors and hourly associates

  • Operation of shop floor training management (i.e., education and training of variable staff for production, logistics and maintenance processes)

  • Support and utilize production performance monitoring (e.g., regarding cost, lead time, scrap, waste, energy, OEE etc.)

  • Provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding production process (e.g., production flow plan, production control plan, work instructions, standardized work chart, standardized work combination table, job instruction sheet, process parameters, materials), production equipment (e.g., machines, equipment, layout), logistics (e.g., material handling and storage technologies) and quality (e.g., test methods, equipment)

  • Initiation and implementation of continuous improvement by applying CBS methods and training measures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Engineering

  • 7 + years in a production / operational leadership roles (In lieu of degree, 14 + years in a production / leadership role)

  • Knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement tools (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc)

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal)

  • Ability to analyze data to determine root cause/ corrective action

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications

  • Willingness and ability to drive change in a fast pace, evolving, automotive environment

  • Quality conscience decision making
