Partner with various systems groups within UPI in a team environment to select and deploy solutions to deliver production engine for use on UPI generators.  Day-to-day management of engine dyno cell operations, performing DVP&R testing, generating technical reports and any other task related to engine testing.  Direct and indirect supervision of engineers and technicians.  Manage department budget while meeting team goals.  Partner with internal groups and external companies to deliver engine program commitments.  Execution of Core Engine System validation consisting of static & dynamic rigs, dyno, and machine testing. Conduct risk assessment through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.  Understand technical issues as they arise and execute root cause analysis through relevant tools, methods, data analysis and testing to resolve the issue.  Conduct or generate test reports to support component and system design reviews.  Maintain communication to peers, team leader and stakeholders with progress against planned activities.  Support resolution to production, test, and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions.  Coordinate and lead mechanical development and testing reviews.  Responsible for maturity and quality components and/or subsystem 3D CAD and technical drawings for turf equipment.  Work with SolidWorks, MATLAB, FEA simulation software and Microsoft Office.  Supervise 1-2 Senior Engineering Technicians. Master's degree plus 3 years experience required.  Worksite: Auburn Hills, MI. May be required to work at our Macomb, MI office locations. Telecommuting may be available depending on project needs. Up to 5% international travel and up to 30% domestic travel req.
