Infrastructure Director

The head of infrastructure has end-to-end responsibilities for: Creating and implementing vision, strategy, operating model of Comerica's infrastructure, which includes, but not limited to, hosting infrastructure (cloud, co-lo, on-premise compute, network, storage, firewall, and appliance devices), software and technology tools, SDWAN to 500+ branches and ATMs, WAN and VPN to trading partners and automation libraries (e.g. Terraform, Ansible). Comerica Bank is a cloud first company, with 80% of business application in public cloud, dominated by AWS, followed by Azure. Maintaining and improving high degree of infrastructure resiliency 247365, by design and operationally, to achieve minimum MTTR of 120 min, and continuously improving. Disciplined oversight and governance to drive infrastructure process efficiency and effectiveness in a 100% compliant and controlled manner. Compliance to regulatory requirements and mandates (e.g. data protection, segregation of duty, change control and access control, and vulnerability management etc.). Vulnerability and patch management to ensure KPIs are well with established board reportable risk tolerance. Disaster recovery, backup and restoration processes, technology and people Infrastructure financials, including setting budget, meeting financial target with high level of confidence (historically < 1% variance within budget). Actively partnering with architects to be an infrastructure thought leader and driver of adopting industry best practices and technologies with a value ($ and risk) centric mindset. Being the highest level of infrastructure leadership for vendor & partner to build strong, collaborative and accountable relationship to ensure SLA performance, competitive pricing, responsiveness, service quality (e.g. change success and process adherence) and continued innovation for vendors / partners to earn Comerica's business every day without the sense of entitlement or complacency. Ensure full compliance of physical access control to co-lo and on-premises data centers Building a high-performing team of leaders and professionals actively leveraging processes and tools such as performance feedback/review, skills development plans, recruitment, disciplinary actions, and community services for the greater good. Provides leadership in collaboratively setting forth the overall technology roadmap, goals and strategies relating to assigned Engineering responsibilities. Identify opportunities to use technology in effective and innovative ways as a means of maximizing productivity and profitability in all areas of responsibility and for the good of Comerica. Participate in industry forums; identify best practices and implement as appropriate. Stay abreast of current technology and identify ways to continuously improve productivity and minimize risk to the organization. Driving Results Project Execution: Ensure necessary resources are devoted to prioritized projects. Ensure projects are on time and budget with quality results. Ensure projects are estimated with a 90% accuracy rate. Financial: Manage the financials of the assigned area of engineering organization with attention to the details while exhibiting strict cost discipline. Identify ways to reduce expenses anywhere in the organization while improving overall capabilities; Quality and Continuous Improvement. Utilize Lean Six Sigma to drive process improvement. Increase standards processes and expectations to ensure that the performance bar is raised year over year. Vendor Management: Negotiate on-going savings with appropriate vendors. Manage contracts and ensure SLAs are being met. Provide leadership in managing relationship with key vendors.
