About the Team:   The Service Excellence team supports a wide range of WABCO, TRW Steering and ZF Commercial vehicle products. The Field Service Team Leader is responsible for supporting distributors, fleets, call center personnel, independent repair facilities, end users and internal personnel with their product questions, requests for technical information, and their need for troubleshooting direction. A high level of technical problem-solving capability and in-depth product knowledge are critical to the role and key to obtaining customer adoption of our products and commitment to the ZF brand. Effective and efficient solutions to field issues is a basic expectation of commercial vehicle users and is fundamental to the support of sales and KPI targets.

What you can look forward to as a Field Service Team Leader:

  • Uphold and enhance the technical proficiency of the field service team while delivering ZF's and customer's commercial vehicle products training

  • Expedite support for escalations from the technical call center and ensure timely follow-up to close the feedback loop

  • Take charge of resolving customer technical issues promptly and professionally, both within your region and by supporting the field service team as needed

  • Ensure comprehensive support and diagnosis of all ZF commercial vehicle systems, products, and electrical systems, including J1939 or other CAN systems

  • Lead the field service team

  • Expedite resolution of technical concerns for key accounts, serving as a primary contact and responding promptly

  • Facilitate engineering support by delivering clear, detailed reports and tracking field investigations of new product concerns

  • Provide constructive and clear product feedback to ZF product and marketing teams

  • Cultivate strong customer relationships

  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to offer technical support and training for both internal and external customers

Your Profile as a Field Service Team Leader:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, (i.e engineering) is preferred. An equivalent combination of an Associates degree or technology-related certification program(s) and experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams, resolving issues, and offering unwavering support while effectively managing escalations and ensuring their successful resolution. Ability to describe/solve complex and cross-functional problems virtually

  • 8+ years of Technical and/or service-related experience

  • Knowledge of heavy- and medium-duty truck and trailer brake and suspension control systems. 

  • Good understanding of the national/fleet commercial vehicle market

  • In-depth electrical and/or pneumatic product knowledge

  • Proven technical knowledge for ZF, WABCO and/or TRW parts, systems, services and diagnostic tools

  • Experience working to resolve customer product and warranty issues

  • PC skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook)

  • Ability to travel 50% to 70% of the time
