Control Panels USA is seeking a Fiber Technician to join our growing team in Austin, Tx. The Fiber Technician will include all aspects of hands-on implementation and support of projects for installation.

    Our regular work schedule is M-F 8AM-4:30PM but the Fiber Technician needs to have some flexibility in their schedule due to customer’s needs including weekends, evening hours on occasion.

    Duties & Responsibilities to include but not limited to: (Training can be provided: foreknowledge a plus!

    • Telecom/network systems implementation including installation
  • Termination and testing of fiber/ethernet cabling

  • Setting up network switches/routers

  • Installation and configuration of simple and networked radio systems

  • Perform field path studies and end to end testing of communication links using various test equipment

  • Working on elevated levels of antenna towers and structures

  • Installation of antenna towers.

  • Always maintains safe and clean work environment

    Candidate must be prepared and have the ability to undergo the required necessary training in order to be proficient and successful in the following:

  • All aspects of fiber work and be prepared/and able to obtain fiber certifications.

  • This role will require climbing and the candidate will be required to be trained and certified in climbing and rigging.

  • The candidate will be required to perform installation and termination of antennas and coax and network cables on towers, Elevated Storage Tanks and other structures at various heights typically between 20ft and 200ft using a boom lift or by climbing, as required.

  • Network system installation switches/routers/media convertors, cabling, termination and setting up/troubleshooting.

  • Installation setup and alignment of Radio communication systems, including path studies, signal strength measurement, troubleshooting physical connectivity and radio setup.

  • Attention to detail and produce high quality workmanship

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, balance, crawl, stoop, crouching, kneel, and stand. This role requires climbing up to 200 feet and standing on ladders frequently. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This role will be exposed to outdoors, high and cold temperatures, loud noises, confined areas and occasional fumes.
