Air National Guard Units POLICE OFFICER in Atlantic City, New Jersey

Summary This job opportunity is for an POLICE OFFICER, position description D2499P01, within the 177TH SFS of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SECURITY RELATED activities for the Security Forces Squadron and tenant personnel. Responsibilities As an POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-7, you will: Serve as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integrated Defense forces. Perform and enforce the full range of security forces duties within the military installation Monitor the environment for noise hazards, health problems, and all other safety hazards Evaluate accidents to determine cause and ensure safety guidelines are followed and necessary precautions are taken Direct patrols, record daily blotter information, and retrieve information through the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) System and local or state information systems. Perform the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions. Prepare reports of investigation in accordance with appropriate guidelines; also assembles and forwards reports of investigation for higher headquarters review. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: Security Clearance Must posses an active Secret Clearance at the time of appointment. Area III: (T32 Only) Member of the NJ NG / Within the Agency (NJARNG) Military Grades: A1C/E-3 to MSgt/E-7 Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Must have the following experience(s): Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods Performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement Handling combat arms functions Specialized Experience: Must have 12 months of the following experience(s): Securing crime and incident scenes Apprehending and detaining suspects Conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains statements and testifies in official judicial proceedings. Responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies. Implementing ground weapons training programs. Controlling and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualification training. Providing guidance on weapons placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability.
