TEKsystems Underwriting Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary:

Provide underwriting support by processing insurance submissions, maintaining efficient underwriting processes, policy maintenance, maintaining broker records, and providing customer service to stakeholders. Key internal relationships include Underwriting Management, Underwriters, Compliance, Underwriting Assistants, Information Technology, and Brokers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferred.

  • Proven administrative experience, or internship experience. Preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors.

  • Proven experience in accurate, high volume date entry.

  • Aptitude skills: capable of learning new skills quickly, adapt to system and/or process changes seamlessly, ability to think of creative solutions for complex problems

  • Interpersonal skills: ability to influence others, client and broker management skills, purposeful communication, flexibility, active listening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing submissions from brokers to reserve or decline business based off each underwriting team’s guidelines.

  • Manage time effectively and efficiently between underwriting support functions.

  • Maintain accurate levels of data entry in all systems processing.

  • Consistently meet service level agreements set by business teams.

  • Provide professional service to brokers/underwriters in all interactions.

  • Work effectively within a team so to ensure the department is achieving their service/quality levels and targets, as required.

  • Build effective and collaborative working relationships with other team members.

  • Comply with standards for timeliness, quality, professionalism, and accuracy.

  • Follow compliance and underwriting team guidelines to ensure efficiency in all processes.

General:

  • Adopt the culture of professionalism, integrity, effectiveness, and dynamic attitude that contributes to an internal environment of teamwork and promotes a positive brand image and experience to our external customers.

  • Comply with procedures, policies and regulations including the code of conduct. Undertake training on policies and procedures as delivered by your line manager, Talent Management or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) either directly, via e-learning or the learning management system.

  • Display business ethics that uphold the interests of all our customers.

  • Ensure all interactions with customers are focused on delivering a fair outcome, including having the right products for their needs.

Details:

  • Pay: $20 - $24/hr. based on related experience or education.

  • Pay Cycle - Weekly | Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits offered

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 5:00pm EST

  • Hybrid work schedule: 1-2 in-office days required per week. Must be commutable to Atlanta, GA for required onsite day.
