The Senior Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for people development initiatives at Altium Packaging. This role will ensure Altium Packaging is developing the skills and capabilities of our employees to support a high-performance organization by incorporating our guiding principles into development content and reinforcing our culture of safety. This role collaborates closely with our HR Business Partners, Safety, Quality, Operations and Legal to translate business needs into impactful experiences that serve to develop our colleagues and evaluate program metrics for future content needs. The Senior L&D Manager, will report to the Director, of HR Programs, and ensures the delivery of development programs, curricula, coaching and assessments for employees. This role’s primary responsibilities include content creation/delivery, regional development, training management, SME activities, occasional facilitation and needs assessment, and evaluation/measurement of learning solutions, and vendor management for L&D projects.

  • Develop and deliver exceptional learning experiences that enhance employee and leadership capability.

  • Design, develop, execute development/training programs to address a variety of talent development needs across the organization including leadership development, HR process enablement, performance management, onboarding, soft skills and career paths.

  • Partner with the business, at all levels, to build together learning solutions which support the organizational needs and can scale and flex with the organization as it grows.

  • Primary resource to evolve Altium Packaging’s leadership development practices; aligned with identified capabilities and talent needs, for today and the future.

  • Consult with HR partners and managers to identify specific learning needs and interventions to provide solutions and resources that positively impact results. Identify when learning should be site specific versus organization level.

  • Collect and use end user and subject matter expert feedback to deliver customized training programs and tools.

  • Workshop Design: Contribute to role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) in range of projects and initiatives. Subject matter expertise varies based on assigned projects in areas including Safety, Legal & Compliance, Quality and Onboarding for select audiences.

  • Identify tools and program needs that support performance initiatives and strategic objectives. Understand the results that stakeholders desire from various processes and provide insight into how efficiently and effectively those results can be achieved.

  • Perform front-end analysis by comparing actual and ideal performance levels in the workplace. Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Incorporate effective communication and feedback methods for development programs and learning experiences. Measure/evaluate the success of implemented learning solutions.

  • Provide follow-up support and coaching to workshop attendees.

  • Work with colleagues and identify external resources to effectively design and implement consistent learning programs and facilitation materials that align with the operational vision, core values and key performance initiatives.

  • Conduct external research and benchmarking to ensure content and delivery models are positioned to deliver best-in-class results.

  • Facilitate workshops, offsites sessions, and other learning forums that includes both virtual and in-person.

  • Conduct needs assessments within the business to evaluate current skills against business objectives, and develops programs to close gaps. Work closely with HR business partners and other stakeholders to identify and anticipate learning needs.

  • Strong understanding of Learning Management System and functionality required to support blended learning approach.

  • Drive continuous improvement by prioritizing learning initiatives based on business needs, making recommendations based on analysis of performance and industry benchmarks/best practices, and modifying approach to meet changing goals.

  • Ability to manage a variety of programs and initiatives while effectively leveraging organizational resources.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated experience and passion for supporting individual and organizational growth.

  • Strong understanding of design software such as Articulate 360, Storyline or similar systems.

  • Critical thinker and problem solver with strong project management, diagnostic and consulting skills.

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in talent development and/or L&D roles

  • Willing and able to travel approximately 10%

  • Experience designing and building programs from scratch

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Experience working in the manufacturing sector
