Freese and Nichols, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated senior Electrical Engineer in our Electrical group to lead and manage Pump Station and Lift Station design projects. The successful candidate will have a rewarding role in growing our electrical engineering group that supports both local and nationwide clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be the Lead Licensed Electrical Engineer who demonstrates extensive successful experience with Water Districts, River Authorities, Federal, State and Municipal clients delivering A/E programs and projects

  • Successfully demonstrate collaboration and management of geographically dispersed multi-disciplinary, project design teams comprised of architects, engineers, and specialty consultants to execute studies, development of plans and specifications for a broad range of projects

  • Provide engineering support work that will include design and drafting of contract drawings, responding to contractor Requests for Information, reviewing shop drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements, and other related design/engineering duties.

  • Be responsible for all aspects of design management including preparation of fee proposals, work plans/methodologies, scheduling, quality control, and coordination with all team members to ensure successful and timely completion of projects

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and communications skills with ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally with colleagues and new and existing clients.

  • Demonstrate strong financial project management skills

  • Lead design workshops, design reviews and client presentations

  • Coach and Support mid-level and junior engineers in the design of medium and low voltage power systems, SCADA instrumentation and control systems.

  • Ability to recruit, identify capable candidates for our growing Electrical Group and Facilities practice.

  • The position also encompasses business development activities, including proposal preparation, client visits, and some marketing activities

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power systems.

  • Professional Engineer License

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in the coordination, execution, and management of engineering projects

  • Ability to clearly communicate clearly in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.

  • Understanding of Revit and BIM for multidiscipline projects

  • Experience with Microsoft programs; Word, Excel, power point, and scheduling software

  • Travel will be required.
