Abt Associates Senior Solutions Architect, Environment & Natural Resources (Remote Flexibility) in Atlanta, Georgia

Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to oversee the delivery of data and digital solutions for federal and state agencies that focus on environment and natural resources. The selected candidate will bring a customer-centric mindset and an understanding of government and commercial technology markets to support business growth. They will apply their understanding of modern software development practices and technologies focused on environmental data systems, geospatial, cloud computing, agile, and DevOps to serve customer needs and support business development activities. An interest in working in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment that includes developers, data scientists, UX designers, scientists, economists, and policy specialists is important for this position.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on digital solutions teams focused on implementations related to software modernization, analytics, geospatial solutions, and low-code platforms.

  • Provide thought leadership based on industry trends, identifying technology innovations relevant to government digital services that support growth of Abt’s digital capabilities and solutions.

  • Lead and/or support work with technology teams and subject matter experts to create solution strategies for growth opportunities in the federal and state-level Environment & Natural Resources market.

  • Contribute as leader or contributor to demos, proposals, presentations, and other business development activities.

Preferred Skills/Prerequisites

  • Experience leading the design, development, and delivery of software development projects focused on public-facing, data-intensive applications related to environment, climate, energy, or public health topics.

  • Experience delivering data and digital solutions at one or more federal agencies such as EPA, USACE, CDC, ATSDR, NOAA, DOE, or DOT.

  • Experience architecting solutions related to data services, reporting services, business intelligence, and/or geospatial applications.

  • Experience in developing and writing technical approaches as elements of proposals and responses to sources sought notices from the US Federal Government.

  • Experience with Web APIs, including REST and GraphQL.

  • Experience with cloud solutions and containerization. AWS certification preferred.

  • Understanding of DevOps and delivery pipelines.

  • Ability to identify when traditional development or low-code solutions are most appropriate.

  • Ability to listen, understand, and be responsive to client needs and priorities.

  • Ability to influence and guide decision making through superior product judgement, understanding of trade-offs, and focus on high-value delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues to a variety audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Ten years of relevant experience, or PhD+ Eight years of relevant experience

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $105,000 to $168,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
