The Role

The Senior Proposal Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing, developing and publishing Lumen's responses to Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and other similar type proposal vehicles in the State / Local Government and Education in the Public Sector.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day direction and development of proposal team resources, developing and maintaining processes designed to meet required requirements, and to work with various business unit leadership to prioritize proposal workload

  • Responsibilities will include managing content, formatting responses to align with corporate brand standards, and, in some cases, sales support for delivery or submission. In addition to tactical day-to-day management of proposals, the Proposal Analyst II may also provide recommendations on response strategy given a variety of factors

  • Analyze and coordinate response requirements for approximately 5 – 8 proposal responses of low- to medium complexity simultaneously

  • Interface directly with management in bid teams to ensure smooth proposal process from initial intake through submission or final disposition

  • Support sales with bid submission as needed

  • Basic understanding of contractual terms and conditions

  • Achievement orientation with high degree of attention to detail to obtain high quality results

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with team members of all management levels and departments

  • Proven ability to deliver results without direct supervision

  • Project team leadership role to coach, guide, and mentor sales teams on successful proposals while driving teams to meet demanding deadlines

  • Proven ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to work hours which can fluctuate depending on various deadline demands

  • Ability to apply lessons learned from prior experience

  • Sell-side RFP experience

  • Experience in a sales or sales support position

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
