Ourteam is responsible for planning the physical infrastructure of both the IntelsatOne backbone network as well as the global teleport network. This physical infrastructure enables access to Intelsat's fleet of over 50 satellites and enablesservices to be deployed across the network including Managed Media (Intelsat's media customers include all major US and World broadcasters as well as cable service providers), IP and Broadband services to land based and mobile customers (Intelsat's Broadband customers include maritime/aero mobility services providers, major Telcos and Cellular service providers).As a part of this team, the Sr. Principal Engineer, Media Planning will be working with seasoned engineers to help perform satellite ground infrastructure and terrestrial network infrastructure planning, inventory management, facility cost control, and advanced customer solution development.Can you drive these processes?Responsible for strategic vision and network optimization of Intelsat's media assets.Own the media deployment strategy for all POPs and teleports designated with media capability.Apply expert Solutions Development skills and processes, including development of media designs and cost projections for non-standard media opportunities.Develop Project Plans to address media solution deploymentsDevelop cost models and business case templates for media solutions.Anticipate and clearly articulate risks, opportunities, implications and options, as well as offer sound judgement and recommendations for mitigating opportunity impacting eventsCoordinate with Planning and Design teams forecasted requirements and impacts to the media network.Develop deployment strategies based on new technologies that may provide improved efficiencies.Establish policies for managing contracted vendor facilities to enable effective network planning and managementWork collaboratively with Teleport Operations, Media Engineering and Strategy to provide guidance during all Statement of Work (SOW) process, ensuring that final documentation is clear and accurate to ensure the greatest work efficiencyYou should definitely have:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or similar discipline.A minimum of ten (10) years of satellite and/or broadcast media network solutions development experience.Strong, demonstrated network design skills, experience delivering multi-faceted satellite/terrestrial network projects involving hub antennas, carrier circuits, colocation, media infrastructure and service implementation.Experience developing and deploying satellite networks for customers on a global scale. Strong knowledge of RF antennas, theory and associated ground infrastructure.Previous experience in antenna systems and controls, Telecom, Broadband, Video, IP Services, or Facilities Infrastructure preferredStrong, demonstrated, structured problem-solving skills in a complex business environment.Prior experience with budget management and forecasting preferredExcellent organizational and database skills, with the ability to coordinate between multiple systemsEffective English language skills, both written and oral and ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.Advanced MS Office Suite skills, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Intermediate proficiency in OutlookAbility and...
