Position Title: Sr Manager - Supply Chain Value Stream
Reports To: Director - Supply Chain Value Stream
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
This leader will play a critical role in leading and supporting the Value stream Director in the execution of the overall Food Supply Chain strategy in a dynamic and fast paced business environment. The Sr manager will be responsible for effectively coordinating a total product end-to-end Operations enterprise. This role will provide a key link between various functional areas from New Product Development through to Customer Experience and from the business unit to supply chain operations, enabling the early detection and resolution of interface issues. The Value Stream Leader will work with leaders and stakeholders and relevant teams to deliver superior value to the customer by ensuring the consistent achievement or exceeding of quality, cost and service goals on both the commercial and new product pipeline fronts. The Value Stream Leader will have indirect accountability for all Supply Chain functions and activities in support of the Brands he/she supports and will serve and the single point of contact representing all supply chain functions to the Brand and Commercial Teams.
Supports the creation and deployment of the strategic plan for the Supply Chain Team in alignment with Business Unit objectives and the Newell Global Supply Chain strategies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across various functions as the key interface with, and advocate for, all groups contributing to the Food BU Brand and Commercial customer end-to-end value stream, throughout product life cycle and customer interaction points.
Participate in the setting out of business objectives and annual plans for the end-to-end value stream and co-ordinate the plan. Responsible for the development of strategies and plans to meet or exceed Value Capture/Cost Avoidance, with a focus on total cost of products in the value stream.
Partner with R&D, Operations and Brand Management in managing all aspects of supply chain innovation and operational implementation, ensuring flawless execution of supply chain and Sourcing activities to support innovation.
Supports delivery and ensures new product develop is sustained through reliable sourcing and manufacturing design principles.
Represent Supply Chain in the Brand Business plan creation/execution and partner to effectively commercialize the Innovation portfolio.
Ensures optimized service / cost balance through long range capacity planning to support the growth agenda within the business unit.
Represent the Supply Chain and Sourcing voice in Business Development opportunities and lead key interfaces for integration activities into Food BU Supply Chain Operations.
Support the future state value stream that will enable cross functional teams to meet and exceed all customer requirements throughout the product life cycle.
Determine improved future state value stream priorities and lead a global cross functional team in the achievement of agreed priorities.
Indirect accountability for supply chain and manufacturing lines in direct support of the Brands supported.
Indirect responsibility for a cost of goods supporting Brand and Business revenue growth over the strategy horizon.
Accountable to ensure service levels at expectations and on time & in full through business partners in Supply Chain
Partners with the Brand, Sales and Supply Chain teams to execute the Newell Product Life Cycle Management program (SKU Rationalization) within the Supply Chain functions.
B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality or a related technical discipline
7+ years of experience including 3 + years manufacturing, sourcing, operations and/or product development experience in a growing consumer goods industry.
Demonstrated leadership of senior people and complex projects, with a strong track record of success working within a global and complex matrix organization.
Experience in MRP planning systems, SAP strongly preferred.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others
Assertive, collaborative and results oriented.
Experience managing large, complex budgets and resources, with the ability to understand the financial implications of leading a manufacturing function.
Experience transforming and improving Supply Chain processes, systems and culture with a demonstrated track record of process and productivity improvement and successful results with developing and implementing change initiatives
Financial acumen and proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Master’s degree in engineering/Supply Chain and or an MBA
Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Certification.
Experience leading or supporting Manufacturing, Sourcing and Supply Chain activities plus P&L ownership
Project Management experience
Understanding of product design, manufacturing, supply chain and distribution processes
10+ years of related broad operations leadership/management on a global scale
Mastery level Operations, Supply Chain and Sourcing domain expertise and continuous change leadership for improvement culture
5+ years of experience leading continuous improvement utilizing tools such as Lean and Six Sigma
