About our TeamThe Public Safety Product Management team supports the federal, state & local law enforcement missions of preventing and solving crime and promoting safe and secure communities by delivering innovative, contributory web-based solutions. This team works collaboratively and has a passion for developing new ideas, gathering, evaluating, and understanding customer use-cases through constant contact with customers, and supports key end-to-end lifecycle components from planning to release.
About the Role
The Senior Director of Product Management will own the Public Safety product strategy vision, plan and execution and will lead a highly functional and collaborative team of seven. Individuals in this role will solve difficult and complex problems with high business impact. They will frequently be a key driver, able to see the big picture and make the appropriate decisions for the company and will actively manage and inspire Product Managers throughout the Government organization and represent the company to external audiences. They will also have direct management and career growth responsibility for product managers and/or managers of product managers, including responsibility for their recruitment and development.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the public safety target market and customers as well as possess extensive customer-driven product development experience.
This position can be home based but must be able to work East coast hours. This position will require travel, though not frequent.
You will be responsible for:
Frequently interacting with customers and understanding their use cases and business in great depth
Balancing organizational needs with customer needs and creating a strategic product plan for the public safety market
Thoroughly understanding competitive products and strategy, and how they influence customer decisions
Establishing aggressive KPIs for the team to measure success based on product performance and revenue
Championing team’s development of go-to-market strategies and launch plans through coordination with stakeholders and ensuring accountability for coordinated execution across product, sales, marketing and other internal and customer-facing teams
Developing appropriate metrics and tracking of launch initiatives and reporting to stakeholders
Demonstrating a track record in driving process improvement initiatives that have long-term value to the business and/or the customer
Working collaboratively with all necessary stakeholders to develop a clear public safety product vision and strategy, and overseeing that strategy, planning and execution
Leading activities to test parts of the product vision and strategy with customers, modifying the strategy as needed
Mentoring managers on how to maintain a strategic, customer-driven perspective within their teams
Fulfilling other special projects as required on an as-needed basis
Requirements
Have 15 years of product management or relevant experience
Have bachelor’s or master’s degree in product management, technical or relevant subject is preferred
Is a thought leader and innovator for their product portfolio as well as an expert at evangelizing and providing clarity of product strategy, vision and culture to the organization
Demonstrates strong communication and presentation skills as well as forward-thinking leadership
Fosters an attitude of collaboration across the organization, communicates belief in positive expectations toward others, and recognizes and celebrates strengths of others
Ensures that personal style encourages a positive environment that enables individuals to be motivated and can employ various motivational strategies for different people and situations
Understands software development methodologies such as Agile Scrum and Kanban
Have experience in Government or Law Enforcement industries and/or public records is preferred

The successful candidate will be required to pass an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners. Candidates and/or employees who are not certified by state and local law enforcement to access criminal justice information will not be able to perform the essential functions of this role.

Position is eligible for base salary plus an annual bonus.
The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Hawaii and Colorado: $153,600 - 285,200 USD
The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Maryland and Washington: $161,200 - 299,500 USD
The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for California and Washington DC: $176,600 - 327,900 USD
The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for New York and New Jersey: $168,900 - 313,700 USD
