Ford EVDD is looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and creative professional to manage the assembly and delivery of its software. In this role, you’ll act as a coordinator between software development teams, vehicle manufacturing teams, and release engineering teams to ensure efficiency of delivery and quality of software developed at Ford. You will also play a critical role designing and implementing creative solutions for automating processes and synthesizing new workflows to further improve efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate is a dynamic cross-discipline communicator, well-organized, and takes satisfaction in developing new processes and automated solutions.

What you'll do…

Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that enable our product teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently

Synthesize workflows and support existing workflows that facilitate efficient delivery of new software.

Ensure that Ford systems have reliability and availability that meet customer needs

Teach, coach, and encourage adoption of best-practices and best-in-class software build tooling solutions

Leverage and recommend cloud technologies enabling scalable provisioning and required reliability

Mentor other engineers in similar roles, driving a culture of learning and autonomy

You'll Have…

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, applicable degree, or equivalent work experience.

5+ years’ experience of full software lifecycle software development, automation, and tools experience in a variety of contexts using C/Java/ or equivalent and interpreted/scripting language experience (like python/go)

5+ years’ SCM experience, preferably git

3+ years’ experience developing software on Linux (any current distro, Red Hat Enterprise Linux / RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES) or Unix operation systems and Windows

3+ years’ experience configuring or creating CI pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions

Even better, you may have…

Strong experience with deploying automation to ensure code quality and reliability meets defined metrics.

Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience in eXtreme Programming (XP) disciplines including: Paired programming, Test-first/test-driven development (TDD).

Expert with scripting languages

Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, GKE or GCP

Proficiency with GNU Make

Proficiency with one or more of the following build languages: Maven, Gradle, Bazel, Ant, Jam, Buck, CMake, Ninja, Autotools

Compensation will be determined according to experience and location. This position is a salary grade 7 - 8.
