About the role

Become a part of the transformative claims insights and analytics team in the global claims operations group. As a member of the Claims Analytics team, your role will span AIG’s global reach. The role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the claims data and analytics strategy for claims in partnership with claims leaders and stakeholders. The role will need to understand business, customer, and partner needs, interpret outcomes, and develop insights in support of those needs while maintaining an approach that is consultative, consistent, and transparent. Collaboration and insights will expand beyond claims to include underwriting, actuarial, and product on an as-needed basis. Looking forward, the position will participate in the team’s continuing journey to advance efforts in trending, forecasting and analytic modeling. Come join the team!

How you will create an impact

  • Bring insights to claims leadership and collaborate on the underlying context driving outcomes

  • Align dashboards and reports to the needs of those within Claims Leadership to support key business review processes and projects

  • Regularly monitor and track KPI progress and provide reporting to cross functional departments for business involvement

  • Lead conversations with Claims Technical Leadership to define gaps in data and operational metrics

  • Perform analysis of loss information and identify trends that will minimize operational risk as well as contextualize business changes

  • Build state-of-the art analytical capabilities leveraging in-house and vendor technologies and setting deployment strategies for self-service where appropriate.

  • Point of contact for claims leaders to identify and implement business rules and/or processes to maintain data quality

  • Act as a business contact to address reporting, data and/or mapping questions

  • Perform user acceptance testing for new reports / data sources

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with business analytics, computer science, information technology, mathematics, social sciences with analytics/research training, or related field preferred

  • 4+ years in an analytic or business role; Commercial Property, Financial Lines, Accident & Health or Catastrophe a plus

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge data extraction tools

  • Intermediate knowledge of a Business Intelligence tool. Advanced Excel, Power BI, or Tableau preferred.

  • Analytical, decision making and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables

  • Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present results to varied audience.
