Opportunity

As the Retail Field Sales Manager, you will be the in-field leader for the Kitchen & Bath North America (KBNA) Commercial Leadership Program (Sales & Marketing) by guiding a team of Field Sales Executives to achieve success in delivering sales results, building strong partnerships, merchandising key products in big box retailers, and creating a channel to be the voice of the customer to both Kohler and our partners.

You will manage the talent of our associates in-stores, working side-by-side with our employees in the retail stores. You will lead by example, always prioritizing the customers first and foremost. You will develop relationship-building plans at a store level with our key partners, ensuring we have a solid foundation for our sales representatives to achieve success in their stores.

You will lead efforts in gaining incremental merchandising space in the stores, You will coordinate sharing best-practices of driving incremental sales with the team to replicate success methods across the sales organization. You will remain adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the business and program.

Overall, the Sales Manager will be responsible forday-to-daycommunication with our associates, our customer and end users, and coordinating efforts between Kohler and the field team to deliver established goals and growth plans.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Retail Field Sales Manager position including supervising direct reports, implementing proactive sales strategies, and defining strategic growth initiatives

  • Travel to Field Sales Executive’s territories and stores, and plan in-store work-withs to evaluate employee performance and determine potential opportunities for business and professional development

  • Partner with Sales Enablement to ensure in-store sales metrics are captured and comprehensive for the Field Sales Team

  • Partner with the Retail – Field Sales Leadership team to construct and define the scorecard for the Field Sales Team, and remain adaptable where adjustments will be made

  • Provide verbal and written feedback to employees following store work-withs to evaluate performance and initiate action-items for personal development, store relationships, store ownership, etc.

  • Identify opportunities in the stores to increase market share and communicate this with Retail Sales leadership team

  • Share in-store best practices throughout team members to institutionalize success across the program

  • Implement efficient and scalable methods for capturing the voice of the customer, collecting feedback from the aisles that can be channeled to internal business partners for company improvement

  • Partner with the Program Manager to ensure Field Sales Executive’s complete the robust training curriculum and enhancements are made to further develop their skillsets

  • Host collaborative conference calls between our partners and Field Sales Team to ensure ideas and processes are being channeled between field & corporate support

  • Proactively create new challenges and initiatives for the field sales team that aligns with company goals and the goals of our retail partner(s)

  • Build network with our retail store(s) Key Decision Makers in the Field & Corporate setting which includes Store Manager’s, District Manager’s, Merchandising team, Regional Merchandising Managers, Regional Vice President’s, and more.

Skills/Requirements

  • 8+ years (combined) in a sales management, leadership development, or sales/marketing position

  • 2 years of direct or indirect people leadership and coaching experience

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

  • Exposure to or experience on a rotational leadership development program

  • Field Sales experience preferred

  • Experience managing cross-functional partnerships.

  • Ability to use data analysis to drive recommendations.

  • Excellent collaboration skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willing to travel up to 75%

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain deadlines

  • Must be a self-starter with a goal to build a strong team

  • Must be broadly focused, a self-starter, able to build team.

  • Professionally represent the company at all times.

  • Willing to work Saturday’s to support customer volume trends

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $98,900 - $125,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
