Abt Associates Public Health Senior Analyst, Veterans Affairs in Atlanta, Georgia
Abt Associates seeks a qualified Public Health Sr. Analyst with Veteran-related experience to support public health research projects funded by VA. This mid-level position requires research and writing competencies and skills. This is an ideal position for someone with a strong clinical and/or public health background interested in applying their knowledge and skills to a range of research projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Work with teams to conduct systematic literature reviews and develop research briefs
Assist with designing and implementing public health research studies, surveys, and interventions
Mentor junior staff and work closely with clinical subject matter experts
Create and manage study databases, train users, and develop manuals of procedures to be implemented by project teams
Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis
Summarizes findings in tables, figures and maps and communicate information
Contribute to manuscripts and presentations for internal and external audiences
Perform project management tasks
Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills / Prerequisites
Masters of Public Health (MPH) OR a Masters of Science (MS) AND at least 3 years of experience in public health field
The following characteristics are considered essential:
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience conducting literature reviews
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to present oneself in a professional manner to and on behalf of clients
Understanding of federal government policies and programs
Proficiency with analytic tools and software (e.g., SAS, SPAA, Python, R and/or N-Vivo)
Background in human anatomy and physiology
Previous experience working with VA
Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $69,000 to $110,000, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
