Newell Brands Project Manager, IT Infrastructure in Atlanta, Georgia

Position: Project Manager, IT Infrastructure

Location: Atlanta, GA or US Remote

Reports to: IT Sr. Manager

The IT Infrastructure Project manager will work on large projects, organizing and controlling project activities through communicating risks, opportunities, and current state of the project within the IT Infrastructure organization. They will fulfill their obligations by coordinating meetings, resources, equipment and information. They will handle projects with the goal of seeing them through on-time and within budget. They will ensure projects run smoothly by controlling workflow, scheduling assignments, evaluating the course of the project and reporting its status to the management and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Project Manager should be able to work closely across organizational boundaries to create comprehensive action plans concerning resources, budgets, and timeframes for projects. This role is expected to manage multiple, large, complex, multi-discipline projects within the IT Infrastructure organization simultaneously. The following are the duties and responsibilities that this role should be able to do:

  • Organize, participate in, and manage project meetings

  • Evaluate potential problems and technical issues and help develop solutions and risk mitigation plans

  • Plan and manage project schedules

  • Coordinate team members to keep project tasks on track

  • Manage project-related documentation by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored

  • Direct project correspondence by preparing and reviewing project proposals, meeting minutes and emails

  • Communicate with project state holders to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives

  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Team-management and leadership skills

  • Documentation management and ability to use project management tools

  • Attention to details even under pressure

  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Fundamental understanding of IT infrastructure in an enterprise setting – networks, servers, storage, security and how the pieces work together

Education and Experience

This role should preferably have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or similar. This role should also have background and training on project management and project management tools, with specific experience in the following areas:

  • Proven work experience as a project manager or similar role with large and complex IT Infrastructure scenarios and implementations

  • Excellent understanding of IT Infrastructure concepts, terminology, and technology

  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans

  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills

  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance controls

  • Hands-on experience with project management tools
