This career step performs this work for the most complex technologies and clients. Sourcing aimed at supporting ATTs transformation, adoption and rationalization of technologies requiring extensive technical expertise in emerging industry Network technologies primarily related to access/transport including TDM, Ethernet technologies, Broadband, Dedicated Internet Access and others. Strong understanding of Enterprise and Mobility network architectures in required.

Key Functions include:

-Negotiate new contracts, contract modifications, follow-up quotations, revisions, terms and conditions with vendors. Work on build vs buy business cases reflecting total cost of ownership.

-Strategic and integrated planning of ongoing network evolution and advancement incorporating the available spectrum and latest technologies to support a robust and forward-looking network (e.g., 1G to 10G, lit to dark, TDM to IP, Ethernet to BB, etc.).

-Effectively understand the offering, costs of what we are buying, alternatives, and how solution compares to our current solutions already used in company; negotiate terms to ensure any business and network risks are mitigated and the network in in compliance with current industry standards.

-Assist with procuring solutions towards deployment of CBAND spectrum, FirstNet needs and evolution of mobility transport network. Responsible to identify and procure transport solutions multiple quarters in advance while closely working with network partners on forecasting.

-Carry out investigative and planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders to identify the different phases of deployment to meet AT&T’s overall network build plans.

-Work with our network partners to review target architecture to determine the most effective approach to procure solutions for the architecture – such as lit vs dark solutions (DRAN/CRAN evaluation), various hubbing options, appropriate fronthaul gateway, network cloud, optimal bandwidth fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul solutions, BBU sharing, radio other equipment needs, identifying core edge locations and other required RF & transport requirements.

-Understand and translate network architectures, technology evolution and deployment models to ensure cost elements and contractual terms align to business value while to providing a no use-restriction based solution to cater for any future needs.

-Identify and work on optimization solutions and opportunities to migrate solutions (to self-build or other vendors). Create and manage tools for such optimization and migration opportunities.

-Understand technology cost drivers to align pricing models with value realized by the business;

-Transform the technical requirements into contractual obligations to hold vendors accountable for a successful implementation.

Job Contribution:

Project Management skills to oversee multiple mid to large projects that involve cross-functional teams.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain preferred.

Experience:

-5+ years of Technical Sourcing experience in the Telecom or Network build design operations or Supply Chain, Vendor or Product management supply chain.

-Project Management skills – ability to oversee one or more large projects that may involve cross-functional teams.

-Risk management expertise including problem solving, familiar with laws, intellectual property, technical regulations regarding data and privacy.

-Ability to work seamlessly within and across companies, cultures, functions, and geographies to drive change and action.

-Understanding/ knowledge of AT&T / Telecom products and/or network build/design operations.

Our Principal Technical Sourcing Management, earns between $130,700.00-$196,100.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
