Veritas Principal Tech Support Engineer / Infrastructure Operations (REMOTE ELIGIBLE) in Atlanta, Georgia

The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.


The Veritas NetBackup SaaS Protection ( NSP ) service provides data protection, management, compliance, and e-Discovery capabilities for SaaS workloads including O365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Audit logs), Google Suite, Box, and Slack. The Backline support and Cloud infrastructure operations team is looking for a senior technical support engineer to help support and manage Azure Cloud resources and security.

A successful candidate will be a Senior Technical support engineer with experience working in Information Archiving and Data protection services.


  • Respond directly to customer inquiries (voice or email) for NSP within a Technical Support Engineer environment.
  • Assist Provisioning team during new customer onboarding process
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug issues related to NSP and related Cloud and SaaS systems
  • Provide confidence to customers through clear, honest, and concise communication.
  • Become a subject matter expert on NSP as an escalations engineer providing support to other internal teams who provide assistance to customers.
  • Assist and Mentor other technical support engineers (TSEs) in the knowledge of NSP.
  • Monitor and modify cloud infrastructure configuration to solve problems and meet the needs of Customers.
  • Research, document, and collaborate on cases as required
  • Author or update technical documents into Knowledge Management (KM) for inclusion into the support knowledge base


  • BS or MS in Engineering / Science
  • 10+ years enterprise Technical Support experience
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure Active Directory
  • Experience supporting Information Archiving and Data protection products
  • Windows and Linux sysadmin experience
  • An understanding of Networking Fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP

Optional - Nice to Have

  • An understanding of T-SQL for writing queries for Azure SQL Server
  • Experience with Azure Cloud - Cloud certifications
  • Proficiency in writing PowerShell or other scripts
  • Admin expertise in:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019

  • SharePoint
  • Google Workspace
  • Box
  • Slack
  • Active Directory / Azure Active Directory
  • Elasticsearch
