Oracle Principal Applications Developer in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) runs the Oracle software that runs Oracle. OAL is responsible for implementing, running, and improving nearly all of Oracle's Enterprise Applications: CRM, HCM, Financials, SCM, you name it. We use Oracle's own real-life business requirements as a "test bed" for innovation. We often race out ahead of standard product and build extensions and custom applications to meet the needs of our 100,000-employee, Fortune 100 company. Once proven, our ideas and innovations quickly find their way back into core product. We also ensure that Oracle is always Oracle’s best reference for our enterprise applications.

1.0 Responsibilities

·Implementation/Customization/Coding extensions/Support of Oracle's recruitment solution

·Partner with the business to define Business Practices and analyze specific business problems

·Participate in user acceptance testing on new products and versions

·Work with Development teams to understand new capabilities and assist in resolving product gaps and enhance the product to better meet the market place

·Responsible for technical set-up of Oracle's test and production instances

·Develop and action migration scripts, test plans and performance plans

·Conduct product training for business/end-users

·Develop and share best practice/technical/process documents

·Contribute to Global Knowledge Repositories

2.0 Skill set

·BE/BTech/MCA/MTech/ME/MBA degree from reputed institutions

·5-8 years experience Implementing/Supporting Oracle HRMS applications

·Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript

·Proficiency in relational database concepts

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·Strong Customer Management skills

·Strong Relationship Building Skills

·Strong Team player in taking ownership of issues and resolving them.

·Self-starter/Enthusiastic/Broader perspective

3.0 Desirable skills

·Experience in design and development of web-based applications

·Understanding of REST APIs: consumption and development

·Understanding web protocols and technologies such as HTTP, JSON and XML
