Partner Channel Marketing Manager – Enablement

The Global Partner Solutions team mission is to build and sell intelligent cloud and intelligent edge solutions with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft. Building on the GPS mission, the Go-To-Market team’s mission is to develop the strategy and marketing approach for how we build, nurture, and engage the partner ecosystem to drive tech acceleration and customer outcomes.

The Partner Channel Marketing Manager for Enablement (PCMM-E) is key to Microsoft's Global Partner Solutions organization strategy. This role is responsible for optimizing channel capacity, including owning the local partner enablement strategy, supporting development of partner capabilities and solutions at scale, and surfacing top partner solutions to Microsoft field sellers.

Partners are critical to extending the tremendous growth in Microsoft’s $15 billion security business. As the US capacity lead for Security, Compliance & Identity, you will be responsible for leading the cross-organizational effort within the US subsidiary to evolve and expand the rapidly growing partner channel for Microsoft security solutions. This will require leading the local strategy and execution, and amplifying worldwide investments in partner sales and technical skilling to build a channel that supports Microsoft’s near-term and long-term revenue, cloud consumption, and digital transformation.


Key responsibilities include:

Assess and grow channel capacity

  • Measure and manage channel capacity by partner technical capability to ensure partner coverage aligned to business goals

  • Create an end-to-end strategy and execution plan to address channel capacity gaps across partner types and customer segments

  • Serve as the business leader and subject matter expert in the Security partner channel and lead a cross-functional virtual team to expand channel capacity and build partner technical and sales skills

Own partner enablement strategy to optimize channel capacity

  • Build local enablement strategy aligned to capacity targets to ensure sufficient partner resourcing and capabilities to support US subsidiary goals

  • Execute enablement plan and drive partner skilling through WW programs and enablement events, local events, and 1:1 partner engagement in partnership with GPS Technical Team

  • Land value of Security certifications and Advanced Specializations with partners and exceed certification targets through partnership with internal partner sales and technical teams

  • Coordinate with Microsoft partner recruitment team to engage new partners

Drive development and prioritization of partner solutions

  • Spearhead creation and lifecycle of partner solutions to package partner offers and IP for field and customer visibility in internal and external marketplaces

  • Identify and prioritize top partner solutions backed by partner capacity and capabilities to drive field utilization of the right partners for the right opportunity at the right time

  • Own landing of local solution governance councils with field Security stakeholders at a regular cadence, with structured agenda, and agreed action plan for prioritized partner engagements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Business Development, Business Management, or related field AND 6+ years partner marketing, sales enablement, technical enablement and/or program management experience OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, or related field AND 4+ years partner marketing, sales enablement, technical enablement and/or program management experience OR equivalent experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in skilling, training, and/or technical enablement

  • Understanding of technology channels and technology consulting and/or ISV business model

  • Experience with technology platforms and solutions with a reasonable level of technical proficiency; security experience strongly preferred

  • Extensive experience of managing virtual teams across functions and geographies:

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking to connect the business strategy & metrics and capacity goals with partner enablement requirements

  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences
