Position Summary

Faculty Position in Pathology Description:

The Morehouse School of Medicine ( MSM ) seeks an experienced educator in clinical pathology to teach medical students, physician assistant students, and students in associated biomedical programs.

  • Candidates must have a strong interest in biomedical and graduate education and, as faculty, will focus on implementation and delivery of highly integrated, organ-systems-based curricula with a clinical emphasis.

  • This position is focused on pathology education and student mentoring and academic support.

  • Ability to contribute to teaching general histology/cell biology is an advantage.

  • Clinical service and/or research may be possible.

  • Scholarly activity in medical education and/or basic science or clinical research is expected.

  • Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a MD or PhD degree or their equivalent in clinical pathology, be board eligible, have prior teaching experience in a medical or biomedical pathology program, and possess excellent communication skills.

  • Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to professional development and leadership in education is essential.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Faculty with active research programs are encouraged to apply, although currently funded research activity is not a prerequisite.

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
