Manager, Procured Materials Governance Lead - Atlanta, GA

The Opportunity

WestRock has embarked on a multi-year business systems transformation initiative. This SAP S4 rollout is aligned to the company’s Path to One goal of becoming the world’s best paper and packaging company.

The Manager, Procured Materials Governance Lead position is a part of the Data Refinery team, which is responsible for delivering and sustaining data transformation and governance for the SAP S4 rollout.

This role will serve as a key team member and trusted business partner for future state data planning, delivery, and stewardship.

Position Summary

This role will:

Develop subject matter expertise on WestRock Procured Materials to effectively facilitate cross-team data discussions and working sessions.

  • Gather Procured Material Master data requirements across business and functional stakeholders; this will include data attributes and cleansing needs.

  • Leverage knowledge and relationships to develop a vision and roadmap for the Procured Material Master Data domain.

  • Demonstrate leadership by hearing all parties and synthesizing, prioritizing and negotiating through data requests on an ongoing basis.

  • Interface with IT counterparts on decomposing top-level requirements into detailed data transformation and delivery planning

  • Partner with the business to establish and sustain stewardship and governance for this domain in SAP S4, including policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Provide ongoing data quality oversight; ensure findings are regularly addressed and training continually provided to the appropriate network of data maintenance contacts, analysts, and other team members.

  • Own data standards documentation for this domain; facilitate the decision-making framework as needed, for new data values, new field definitions, etc.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Deliver data transformation and future state stewardship, in collaboration with internal and contracted teams.

  • Be a strategic partner to functional stakeholders by ensuring and executing comprehensive planning for each deployment, which may include interim state process mapping, change management, and communication activities.

  • Provide Data Quality and Master Data roadmap sequencing recommendations that ensure incremental value delivery for the business while also coordinating with parallel IT and business transformation activities and needs.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative Business discipline such as Accounting, Economics, or Finance; Industrial Engineering; or an equivalent analytical-type subject from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in corporate or business roles with demonstrated progression of data analysis and requirements management responsibilities.

  • Process-oriented problem solver, with experience delivering root cause analysis across process, data and systems, and a demonstrated ability to ‘think outside the box’ to propose future approaches.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a global, matrixed, cross-functional environment about complex subjects in a succinct, fact-based way. Must be able to articulate how strong data management processes and solutions directly enable business capabilities and results.

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with technology teams on detailed data planning and delivery.

  • Paper, packaging, or manufacturing industry experience is a significant plus.

  • SAP delivery experience is a significant plus.

  • Cross-functional change management and communications experience is preferred.

  • Self-directed, team player, and results-oriented with proven business acumen.

  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to balance multiple priorities.
