We are looking for forward thinking technologists that can accelerate our focus areas such as building stronger foundational technology capabilities, reducing complexity, employing digital transformation concepts, and leveraging disruptive technology.

Master Data Manager - Atlanta, GA or Remote

The opportunity:

  • This role will be a strategic member of the MDM team dedicated to optimizing and scaling Master Data at WestRock. Consistent Master Data is a foundational enabler and key accelerator to the corporation’s multi-year strategic objectives. Delivering harmonized, consistent, governed data will position the enterprise with trusted insights to drive timely, data-based decisions.

  • This position will therefore spearhead Material Master data enablement for Paper Products, by partnering with functional owners to plan and execute the future state MDM vision.

  • This role requires strong skills in data analysis, business process mapping, and thought leadership for the future state data authoring and maintenance strategy.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Independently partner with boundary system SMEs to perform the data analysis required to map today’s legacy data to the future state S4 Material Master.

  • Support data and process requirements gathering where needed, to enable detailed technical project planning and support cross-team data cleansing execution.

  • Perform unit and integrated testing to support the mock load cycles leading up to each S4 program deployment.

  • Provide Data Quality and Master Data roadmap sequencing recommendations that ensure incremental value delivery for the business while coordinating with parallel systems transformation activities. This will include partnering with the OCM (Organizational Change Management), Training, and Security teams.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science; Industrial Engineering; a quantitative Business discipline such as Accounting, Economics, or Finance; or an equivalent analytical-type subject from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in corporate or business roles with demonstrated progression of data analysis and IT requirements management responsibilities.

  • Process-oriented problem solver, with experience delivering root cause analysis across process, data and systems, and demonstrated ability to ‘think outside the box’ to propose future approaches.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a global, matrixed, cross-functional environment about complex subjects in a succinct, fact-based way. Must be able to articulate how strong data management processes and solutions directly enable business capabilities and results.

  • SAP delivery experience is preferred; greenfield implementation experience is a significant plus.

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with technology teams, such as systems developers and third-party groups, to deliver data solutions.

  • Cross-functional change management experience, including process mapping and re-engineering, is preferred.

  • Self-directed, team player, and results-oriented with proven business acumen.

  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • This role is optimally suited for someone who genuinely enjoys making a positive impact on the business through data optimization.

What we offer:

  • Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence.

  • Comprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities

  • An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potential

  • A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.
