Newell Brands Manager, Promotion Optimization in Atlanta, Georgia
Job Summary:
This role is a part of the newly created Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Promotion Performance team. This team is a strategic part of our 2025 vision and will enable a step change in driving Newell Brand’s ability to leverage data as a strategic asset. The Manager, Promotion Optimization will support strategies of the RGM team with analytical tools, processes, and insights. This individual will bring experience in data analysis, technology, and project management to help identify revenue growth opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and improve overall profitability for Newell’s enterprise customers .
Responsibilities:
Revenue Growth Management
Partner with the data science team to help build, refine, and socialize trade promotion optimization predictive models
Analyze predictive model outputs to define and present recommendations for future activations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate current technologies, communicating new technology capabilities, without losing focus on supporting the current tools
Work closely with tool model builders to ensure delivery of new TPO capabilities
Lead the creation of dashboards and reporting that delivers trade analytics to understand effectiveness of promotions and make recommendations to support future activation
Work closely with TPM team to understand points of connectivity between TPM and TPO tools
Support segment support TPO team with execution of similar TPO capabilities as those delivered for enterprise customer teams
Enterprise Customer Support
Supports enterprise customer leadership in management of trade investments
Work closely with enterprise customer teams to develop use cases for POCs and act as main POC for stakeholder management
Manage discussions with Sales, Brand, and Finance teams to facilitate strategic decisions based on insights
Manage feedback mechanisms for customer insights delivery, monitor stakeholder satisfaction and actions based on insights, and derive ongoing action plans for improvement in insights tools
New Tool Project Delivery
Manage implementation of Trade Promotion Optimization models into connected planning tools throughout the project life cycle from business case development through requirements gathering, development/build, testing, launch, and hypercare
Engage with cross-functional stakeholders in IT, Sales, and Central Analytics to deliver on projects
Manage and schedule project-resources appropriately while maintaining strong internal and external communication to the client at an appropriate cadence
Track project performance with respect to timeline, scope, and budget
Participate in System Integration and User Acceptance testing for the end-to-end TPO tools as part of initial implementation and subsequent change streams
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Analytics, MBA preferred
5+ years relative Finance/Analyst/Trade Promotion experience
At least 5 years of experience in CPG/retail as sales or Trade analyst
At least 2 years of experience in project management using agile methodology
Experience in statistical modeling and working with Data Science driven organizations a plus
Advanced level skillset in MS Excel with demonstrated ability to confidently draw conclusions from complex data sets
Familiarity with SAP and/or other ERPs, Visualfabriq, Anaplan or other TPM tools, a plus.
Understanding of manufacturing business processes in the CPG industry
Advanced knowledge of data analytics and BI tools
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and tell a story with data evidenced by good verbal/written presentation ability
Must be a self-starter, accountable, flexible, resourceful, highly organized and detail-oriented with accurate work output
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with the ability to manage key stakeholders
