Position: Manager, Marketing Operations

Location: Atlanta HQ

Job Summary:

Marketing Operations is a center of specialized expertise for integrated marketing communications across PR, social media, ecommerce, and agency management, reporting into the President, eCommerce & Digital. The team also has a critical role in establishing core functional and cross-functional processes and ways of working, including category strategy, Omni-channel brand planning and innovation management. With responsibility for managing and prioritizing annual brand communications spend, and the management of the relationships of suppliers through which we make these investments, the function is key in ensuring that Newell Brands’ strategic priorities are supported with commensurate levels of investment.

Marketing Operations are unique in the Marketing organization in having a role in partnering with all of the business units, giving the broadest possible overview of the totality of Newell Brand’s brand portfolio. Marketing teams referenced below include both brand marketing and eCommerce marketing teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partners with agency suppliers and marketing teams to identify and recommend ways to increase efficiency and organizational agility across cross functional teams, including ways of working.

  • Key liaison with Omni-channel agencies of record on all points of central process between marketing operations, marketing teams and agencies.

  • Manages annual SOW (Scope of Work) process and makes recommendations on the assets that best align with annual brand plans that align with an Omni-channel approach.

  • Manages the roadmap and implementation of improvements to the SOW in Newell’s internal marketing system.

  • Drives best practice and education with the marketing teams and agencies on SOW.

  • Drives best practice and education with the marketing teams and agencies on integrated briefing process.

  • Works collaboratively with Omni-channel agencies of record (Advertising, PR, Social, Digital, Media and Shopper) to help coordinate initiatives across marketing teams.

  • Lead management of consolidated media grid and process across all business units in partnership with agency.

  • Responsible for implementing scorecards and other performance trend analyses.

  • Responsible for implementing process improvement initiatives where significant and measurable efficiencies can be achieved.

  • Partners with the marketing teams to coordinate and organize key deliverables to executive leadership.

  • Participates in annual brand planning and strategy discussions.

  • Contributes to the building capabilities initiatives for marketing, proposing new opportunities to encourage the education and sharing of best practices across the teams.

  • Responsible for implementing agency playbooks internally across the teams.

  • Lead the build out and implementation of centralized processes in order to gain efficiencies throughout the marketing organization. Ultimately resulting in a team of subject matter experts in a center of excellence.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations.

  • Two direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree. Graduate degree a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in either Marketing, Marketing Services, Sourcing, or other business partnering function (e.g. Finance).

  • Consumer product industry experience desirable.

  • Existing knowledge of Newell Brands’ established Marketing process, systems and operational management a significant advantage.
