Our Claims team is an industry leader, drawing daily on its unparalleled levels of expertise to offer our clients the highest levels of stewardship to drive total cost of claim improvement and consistent outcomes. AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.

The Aerospace claims team is a global unit providing comprehensive claims service for manufacturers, airlines, airports and general aviation clients.

About the role

As Major Loss Adjuster for Aerospace Claims, you will report to the Light Aviation Division (LAD) Claims Manager and play a key role by adjusting, investigating and negotiating Aerospace claims, and serving as a key account contact for multiple general aviation accounts based in the US and Canada.

What you need to know:

  • Adjusting Aerospace claims in all sub-lines of the business with a concentration in LAD/general aviation claims including first-party, complex third-party liability, and coverage matters.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders as well as Global, Regional, and local Aerospace customers and brokers.

  • Identify, and report claim trends, lessons learned and risk management opportunities to Aerospace stakeholders.

  • Approximately 25% travel might be required as part of claims investigations and client/broker meetings.

What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of first- and third-party Aerospace/Aviation insurance claim adjusting and litigated claim management experience.

  • Strong technical proficiency in adjusting complex Aerospace Claims and an established knowledge of the Aerospace insurance market.

  • A bachelor’s degree, or beyond.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including an ability to explain technical issues and problem solve.

  • Ability to manage time and prioritize, and demonstrate a willingness to assist teammates.

  • Computer proficiency with an aptitude for both common and specialized claims systems programs and applications.
