Position Overview

You will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement across our supply chain and warehouse operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Warehouse Operations, you will be responsible for collaborating with a team of dedicated supply chain professionals and business unit leadership, operations teams, and key internal and external vendors. Your expertise in lean principles, effective warehousing, network design as well as your experience in warehouse automation will be utilized delivering enhanced operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Management Systems, Automation, Controls, Implementation

  • Become a driving force and oversee utilization and implementations of network systems such as WMS, SAP, and similar platforms to enhance visibility, information, and controls of materials.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and automation solutions, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), as well as other automated technologies such as conveyor and robotic systems to drive efficiency and labor productivity.

  • Collaborate with IT, business units and vendors to integrate and optimize software and automation solutions, ensuring seamless communication and data synchronization.

  • Implement warehouse start-ups, transitions and closures based on business needs.

Process Optimization

  • Assist in developing and executing strategic initiatives to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes and flow. This will include shared responsibilities and teaming up with our strategic optimization, procurement, transportation, and distribution network teams.

  • Utilize lean principles to identify inefficiencies, identify and eliminate waste, streamline workflows within the warehouse network and our organizations supply chain.

  • Implement best practices for inventory control, cycle counting and order fulfilment to improve accuracy improving on time and in full KPIs.

Data Analysis and Performance Metrics

  • Leverage data analytics tools, dashboard and analyze KPIs such as order time, cycle rates, fill rates and turnover to identify trends improvement opportunities.

  • Develop customized dashboards, reports, and metrics across the supply chain warehousing network in coordination with the warehouse operations manager benchmarking against industry standards driving accountability and performance within the utilized 3PL vendors.

  • Implement continuous monitoring and feedback loops of information to proactively address deviations to improve proactive performance on space utilization, material flow and improve our competitive advantage in the warehouse and industry markets.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including procurement, logistics, production, and customer service teams to align supply chain objectives with overall business goals.

  • Execute projects and initiatives aimed at improving supply chain resiliency, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction while having the ability to quickly adapt to the immediate needs of the business.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and team member of GPI operations while providing guidance and support to colleagues and external vendors supporting our business.

Leadership

  • Be looked upon as a leader in the supply chain warehouse space, focus on safety, quality and production encouraging innovation and creativity throughout the network with a focus on creating a positive work environment for all employees and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or related field that fits the organizations expectations.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive operational experience in warehousing, supply chain or operations with a demonstrated track record of process improvement.

  • Proficiency and understanding in ERPs, WMSs, Software and data analytic tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • An extraordinarily strong understanding of lean principles, continuous improvement with a strong ability to clearly communicate and build foundations for continued positive team dynamics and working conditions.

  • Experience with implementing automated technologies, storage systems and history of implementing or working with automated guided vehicles, robotics and improving technologies.

  • Excellence in communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

  • The ability to prioritize competing demands, delivering results, managing time, travel and business needs is critical to this role.

  • Having the ability to have an operational as well as an analytical mindset creating the ability to take into consideration the data as well as the real working environment to drive process optimization.

Pay Range: $93,030.00 - $124,005.00
