How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Lead Program Manager, Workers Compensation and Leaves Care Management provides clinical leadership and expertise to lead a strategy and program to support Care Management for Delta employees. This position drives leadership and excellence in the care and experience of Delta employees experiencing a leave of absence from work relating to an on-the-job injury or disability. Oversees process and systems improvement to ensure high quality care management for employees across the Workers Comp and Leaves ecosystem at Delta. They will partner closely with multiple stakeholders, including Delta’s Health & Wellness Team, the Workers Comp and Disability TPA, healthcare providers, Nurse Case Managers and others, all while focusing on the employees’ health, wellbeing and recovery.

The Lead Program manager leverages expertise in Disability and Workers Compensation Case Management as well as leadership experience in order to build an integrated model for care management excellence and support the various care and experience-related KPIs for the program itself. They will partner across all business units to support employees, gain efficiencies and enhance division-specific initiatives focused on the care and experience of injured and ill employees. They will also develop key clinical performance metrics and measures outcomes and ensures team’s objectives and deliverables support corporate goals. This position may be tasked with building a team if applicable, and then also providing leadership and oversight of direct report(s).

The Lead Program Manager will support the Health & Wellness team in creating an environment that improves employee health outcomes and the overall wellness of our people. This position will be based in Atlanta.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Certified Nurse Case Manager

  • 5 or more years of nurse case management experience with at least 3 of those years in Workers Compensation and/or Disability/Leaves

  • 3 or more years of leadership and managerial experience

  • Broad clinical operations or nursing knowledge in the ambulatory care setting

  • Proven experience managing outcomes and programs in a leadership capacity overseeing multiple departments or services including, or similar to, employee health, occupational health and/or ambulatory care settings.

  • Proven strong decision-making, problem-solving, project management and communication skills and demonstrate sound, independent judgment.

  • Advanced ability to communicate to senior executives, front line employees and large groups

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record software.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience working with Lean Management Systems.

  • Strong preference for candidates with a certification from American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN).

  • Strong preference for candidates with current certification from the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN).

  • Working knowledge of employee health, communicable illness management, infectious disease, travel health, and/or public health as it impacts a global employer.
