    Job Summary

    IMI is seeking a full-time Piping Project Engineer for the Atlanta, GA area.

    Essential Functions

    The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company policy, contract specifications.

  • Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing all company and customer safety policies and regulations.

  • Assist in the design, planning and implementation of a project clearly articulating project scope, goals, specifications and deliverables.

  • Develop full scale project plans with timelines.

  • Review and approve design drawings prior to customer submittal.

  • Provide direction and support to project team.

  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Close assigned project with a managed review with project managers and customers that validates quality of work and adherence to the project specification requirements.

  • Ability to develop piping material take offs from customer supplied prints or hand generated sketches.

  • Procurement of materials and maintaining the tracking of the material travelers

  • Generate welds maps from customer provided drawing and hand generated ISO’s

  • Quality inspections of material being fabricated and installed

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 5 years' experience in the industrial process piping industry.

  • Ability to create and modify design drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

  • Ability to develop handwritten ISO sketches of a particular piping system

  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.

  • Computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam, MS Project, and Outlook.

  • Ability to read and understand piping specifications and PID drawings.

  • CWI certificate preferred but not required

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Stand of walk for long periods of time

  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects

  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance

  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
