As a business unit, Delta Innovation incubates and invents human-centered solutions that delight customers and empower employees. The Delta Innovation team continually looks to embrace new technologies and processes that push the boundaries of innovation in the travel industry. To further this objective, we are seeking an VR Research and Technology Graduate Intern to join our team
The work will involve investigating the capabilities of a number of leading-edge technologies in the realm of Extended Reality (XR): Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The student will perform hands-on work with hardware and software associated with the Meta Quest, HTC Vive, Microsoft Hololens, among others. Work will also include developing software tools for converting and importing 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models into a format compatible with the Unity virtual environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, develop, integrate, debug, and test real-time AR and VR software.
Collaborate with VR developers and designers to create immersive VR experiences.
Contribute to the creation of 3D game assets, animations, and user interfaces for VR environments.
Participate in testing and troubleshooting to ensure smooth and engaging VR experiences.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in VR technology.
Write high-quality, performant, and maintainable code.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Current pursuit of Master's degree in computer science, game development, or a related field.
Must be currently enrolled in accredited college, university, or institution during the duration of the program
Passion for virtual reality and a strong interest in VR development.
Experience with VR development, 3D graphics, and programming concepts.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: game engine development, AR/VR development, mobile app development, driver or firmware/OS development, or robotics.
Familiarity with game engines like Unreal or Unity.
Knowledge of camera and sensor technologies.
Experience or interest in AI research or development.
Familiarity with 3D pipelines and processing models (scenes, textures, materials, and animations).
Strong grasp of 3D graphics concepts (meshes, materials, shaders, lighting).
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
