Job Title: Engineer I

Job Description

This position assists in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects.

As an Engineer in the design group, a typical day might include:

• Working on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products

• Involved in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components involving maintenance of mechanical equipment

• Performing system balances to determine the best overall solution to solve system issues or identify system low points and methods to best solve them

• Providing oversight and support for construction activities

Hard Skills

• 1+ year of professional working experience within an engineering capacity

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical or civil)

• Previous project management experience

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Atlanta,, Georgia and some days remote.

Work Environment

There are 4 divisions within design (CRA, DOT, New business, Territories). 70% of time will be spent in the office, 30% in the field (roughly). May have to go in the field from time to time to review the pipelines and ensure the finished product fits the design standard. The department has 15 FTEs and 8 contractors. The company values engineering and engineers, with 80% of their upper management having an engineering back ground . This position will require communication with 10 different departments including vendors, internal departments, and field construction teams.

Candidates must be local to ATL. The role will be partially remote and partially in the office each week, with the current schedule being Monday/Tuesday/Thursday in the office.
