How you will create an impact

The North America (NA) Energy Major Loss Claims Adjuster is a key technical position responsible for the proactive management of all lines NA Energy claims. The role serves as a large & complex NA Energy claim handler in collaboration with NA Energy Claim leadership, NA Energy underwriting business leads & stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient and customer centric NA Energy claim proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong technical large and complex all sub-lines of Energy claim management aimed at ensuring the best possible loss outcomes through Total Cost of Claim management and initiatives

  • Act as one of the lead NA Energy Claim handlers authorizing reserves and payments within granted authority and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate Senior Claim leadership

  • Ensure prescriptive and cost-effective management of assigned vendors on large & complex claims handled

  • Responsible to communicate, update and maintain compliance with established AIG Claims & Litigation guidelines, ensure appropriate and timely engagement with AIG Legal department and participate in cross-functional litigated claim file roundtables.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of individually handled significant NA Energy large losses, casualties & catastrophes to NA Energy Claim leadership

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with NA Regional Energy underwriting, actuaries, finance, reinsurance and other stakeholders on claim trends

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Regional and local Energy customers & brokers

  • Maintain superior Energy claim skills by participating in and delivering technical training, keeping current with industry custom & practice

  • Responsible to identify and report NA Energy claim trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and to share with the NA Energy Claim management as well as relevant Energy stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk management)

  • Support Head of NA Energy Claims on all assigned projects and initiatives

  • Ensure strict adherence to NA Energy Claims compliance with all appropriate governmental regulatory and AIG Corporate claims governance guidelines

Reports to: North America Energy Claim Leader

What you'll need to succeed Leadership Skills:

  • Proven leadership and personnel management skills

  • Extensive Energy claim management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders

  • Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies

  • Ability to manage and influence team and stakeholders across North America

Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong technical Energy claim capability to manage and oversee assigned Energy claims

  • Demonstrate an established & proven reputation in Energy Insurance claim management

  • Ability to manage / minimize the total cost of complex Energy claims in indemnity & expense

  • Existing strong relationships with NA Energy stakeholders, customers, and brokers / producers
