AZCO Electrical Field Operations Manager (Nationwide) in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

The Field Operations Manager will develop and manage staffing programs for union and employee-owner site supervision. This person will manage supervisory development processes for union and non-union site supervision to ensure continued financial growth, collaboration, and client satisfaction for all jobs.

  • Adhere to AZCO’s quality and safety culture and Zero Injury Program.

  • Manage a group of field construction supervisory positions who are responsible for project execution.

  • Oversee project dispatching for union and employee-owner site supervision.

  • Understand and study labor availability to develop and sustain strong operational teams.

  • Evaluate labor utilization and availability during the estimating, preconstruction, and construction stages.

  • Collaborate with field construction supervision to develop and sustain high performing teams.

  • Coordinate and identify essential superintendent and foreman training for consistent application to AZCO’s operations initiatives, policies and procedures.

  • Provide performance feedback to identify critical training and development opportunities for succession planning.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen customer satisfaction, jobsite efficiencies, productivity, and profitability.

  • Administer the union supervisory compensation packages.

  • Conduct project safety, quality, progress and financial audits and assessments as required.

  • Assist in the recruiting of site superintendents and maintains relationships throughout recruiting process. Coordinate with the field operations and human resources departments to select candidates based on skills, abilities and leadership.

  • Support the human resources team to promote trade careers to youth in the community. Work with local organizations such as vocational and/or technical colleges, Chamber of Commerce, and high schools.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff.

  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for department staff.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department.

  • Responsible for interpreting the organization's policies, purposes, and goals to staff.

  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.

  • Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • Responsible for diversity initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of relevant construction experience

  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement

  • Experience with managing union construction operations.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).

  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.

  • A basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is preferred.

  • Must be able to meet the company's driving requirements.

  • OSHA 10-hour certification Preferred
