Walden Security Director of Security in Atlanta, Georgia

SUMMARY:

The Director of Security is responsible for the planning, organizing and directing of all activities of the department. Instructions to the employee are general, and the employee must routinely use independent judgement when performing tasks. The Director of Security must occasionally consider different courses of action in order to complete tasks. However, accepted professional standards and standard operating procedures help guide the employees’ work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Safety Officer Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, designs, organizes, directs and provides overall supervision of personnel, programs and activities of the Police Department. Patrols, by foot or motor vehicle,. Investigates accidents and suspected crimes, reports findings and arrests suspected individuals or takes other action. Formulates and prescribes the work methods, policies and procedures to be followed by the department. Responsible for maintaining records and reports needed by other law enforcement agencies, units of government, and the city governing body.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license. Must have five (5) years experience in law enforcement administration.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, preferably graduation from a college or university with major course experience in police administration or related field.

Must possess five years of supervisory and/or management experience with projects similar in size and scope of this contract.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret using the English language. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) software skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Graduation from a State POST Certified Police Academy

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license

• Any other minimum standards set by state Department of Justice of Training and Standards as applicable.

• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to see and distinguish basic colors.

The Operations Manager must be capable of working in a fast paced/high stress environment.
