Crawford & Company Commodity Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Summary

The Commodity Manger will be responsible for establishing contracts and ensuring the cost effective supply of a commodity category or group of commodities. The incumbent will have full responsibility for his/her commodities and will report into the Purchasing Director who will be responsible for the entire department spend. Within the context of the supply, the incumbent will work to drive the strategic sourcing objectives. The position will also interact with numerous functions within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with broad ranges of stakeholders to help identify and analyze opportunities for driving value, reducing costs, and consolidating the supply base

  • Provides analysis on complex and ambiguous data and presents findings to upper management

  • Acts as an internal change agent to align employees with the strategic vision

  • Identifies systemic issues and continually improves processes

  • Negotiates and executes contract agreements that align to the organization and stake holders goals.

  • Identifies, communicates and executes on projects to create value and drive down cost across the organization

  • Performs sourcing administrative functions such as having Non-Disclosure Agreements, contracts etc. executed by appropriate parties

  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct

Requirements

  • 4 year degree from accredited university required

  • MBA preferred

  • 4 year’s experience required in a purchasing and/or purchasing-related role

  • Project management skills, training or related experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong technical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated skills/behaviors working in a team environment

  • Ability to influence peers and lead cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated problem solving methods

  • Self-starter, possessing high degree of self-motivation and bias for action

  • Experience or understanding of ERP systems

  • Subject matter expert in one of the following commodity areas:

  • IT

  • Travel

  • Facilities

  • Fleet Management
