Parsons Corporation Civil Designer/Drafter - Road & Highway in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring a Designer/Drafter for our portfolio of Georgia DOT projects. This Designer will support our current group in preparing GDOT plans and drawings.

In this role, you will perform basic to moderately difficult design/drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes MicroStation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, cut sheets, details, etc., according to established standards and procedures.

  • Utilizes technical manuals and directives, including GDOT PPG and EDG manuals, to ensure compliance with codes and company and client policies.

  • Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.

  • Understands how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and construction drawings for road, highway and bridge projects.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited course (or equivalent) is preferred

  • 2+ years of relevant experience with civil and road/highway design projects

  • GDOT experience is preferred

  • PC literacy

  • Working knowledge of MicroStation

  • Working knowledge of other computer software used to complete design assignments, including Bentley ProjectWise, is preferred
