About the Team

The Mercury Studio, an internal digital creative agency, is looking for an Associate Director – Content Strategy to join the team to help deliver a best-in-class customer experience across web and app. The Mercury team is responsible for the content strategy, design and implementation of experiences across the AT&T digital properties.

About the Job

The Associate Director, Content Strategy will direct and supervise a team of Digital Content Strategists – working with external stakeholders, business, national marketing, as well internal merchandising studio disciplines, producer, writers, designers, to create content strategies and merchandising plans that will accomplish various business objectives in a fast-paced digital environment. The candidate will establish the direction for a cross functional team to execute.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

  • Build and coordinate a shared vision with multiple departments to gain support for strategic initiatives and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.

  • Analyze data to determine necessary content pivots.

  • Create user journey diagrams to understand customer experiences and behaviors.

  • Provide direction for graphic designers, copywriters and front-end developers through content strategy, merch plans and group meetings helping to achieve site goals by utilizing web best practices, clarifying strategic requirements, explaining complex ideas clearly and managing expectations.

  • Defines content test and learn opportunities based on ROI.

  • Provide leadership in defining objectives and strategies for user experience and content.

  • Work in an independent fashion, solve problems, make decisions and communicate effectively in difficult situations.

  • Research and stay up to date on content trends, best practices and consumer behavior.

  • Ensure consistency across all related content from external advertising to upper funnel and lower funnel website content.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate needs to have 8-10 years of digital content and merchandising strategy experience.

  • 5+ years of professional responsibility as a supervisor

  • eCommerce sales experience

  • Analytics and storytelling experience

  • Excellent communication, presentation and data visualization skills, executive readouts

  • Prior experience in SEO/eComm

  • Firm understanding of content strategy and digital design principles.

  • Strong ability to plan and work through complex challenges with a team of creative problem-solvers.

  • Must share examples of their strategy and deck work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with e-commerce and account management carts and flows for wireless products and/or entertainment content is a BIG plus.

  • Agency work

  • A diverse body of work that demonstrates your ability to work on a variety of different kinds of projects.

  • Experience with Workfront project management software and Adobe content management systems.

This position is located in Dallas, TX & Atlanta, GA. There is No Relocation assistance provided.

Our Associate Director-Content Strat earn between $128,400 - $215,800 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
