Abt Associates Asset Building Research Senior Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia


The Housing, Communities and Asset Building practice focuses on research, evaluation and technical assistance projects that help individuals build assets and financial capability to improve their financial well-being.  

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The focus of the position will be tailored depending on the skills of the candidate. Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Provide subject-matter expertise on topics related to financial health, including but not limited to consumer financial protection, financial education, and/or financial inclusion.

  • Conduct qualitative, quantitative and/or policy analysis on consumer financial decision-making, consumer financial products, and financial education programs, and other initiatives designed to improve the financial health of individuals.

  • Contribute to written products, including technical reports, briefs, and other accessible formats for nontechnical audiences

  • Participate in project teams in roles such as analyst, technical assistance liaison, or task lead

  • Assist with managing project delivery including budgets, schedules, project deliverables, client relationships, and collaborating with team members

  • Contribute to business development activities and proposals for federal, state, local, and philanthropic clients as a technical writer or proposal manager

  • Engage in thought leadership activities such as presenting at conferences and meetings, publishing in peer reviewed journal, developing blog posts, participating in podcasts, or other related activities

Preferred Skills/Prerequisites

  • Strong knowledge of consumer financial products and services, consumer financial decision-making, and/or financial education policy and programs

  • Strong commitment to Abt’s mission and to equity, diversity, and inclusion

  • Strong commitment and aptitude in working collaboratively in teams and mentoring peers

  • Strong technical skills in quantitative or qualitative analysis, data collection, rapid cycle learning, policy analysis or continuous quality improvement. May have technical skills with software packages (e.g., SAS, Stata, R, NVivo), although not required

  • Expertise in equitable evaluation and/or policies and programs to advance racial equity preferred but not required

  • Expertise in behavioral science preferred but not required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $69,000 to $110,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
