Provides guidance and support to students and faculty in graduate programs in the Goizueta Business School (GBS). Designs and implements cloud-based solutions to support and advance the academic and data needs of faculty and students including provisioning and configuring virtual machines/cloud-based infrastructure components and creating platforms to support big data analysis and workloads.


  • Designs and implements data management processes including extraction, transformation and storage.

  • Works with the program directors to acquire data from various sources and partners with faculty to sanitize data to be used in the classroom.

  • Provides coaching to students regarding data analysis, programming, and debugging and assists faculty in the classroom either directly or via a pool of trained teaching assistants.

  • Provides written, recorded or classroom tutorials on relevant topics.

  • Advises IT and Academic Leadership on technology needs.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


  • A bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field and three years of data analysis, programming or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • A master's degree in Math, Statistics or Computer Science preferred.

  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: R, Python, SQL.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing systems preferred.

  • Ability to operate in multiple OS environments preferred.

  • Experience working in higher education and with large data sets preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation abilities.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to returnto an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
