+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Essential job Duties and Responsibilities | | | | : | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Medication Administration Functions: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Prepares, administers, and documents medications following accepted | | practices, and in accordance with regulations under the direction and | | supervision on a Licensed Nurse. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Personal Care, Nursing Care, and Food Service Functions: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, | | dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and | | positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc. Assist with resident | | recreation programs. Prepares residents for meals and snacks. Assists | | residents in eating where needed, and records food intake. | | | | Reads and follows daily care plans; performs assigned restorative and | | rehabilitative procedures, reports changes in resident condition to | | Nurse in charge; documents care provision on resident record/flow | | sheets as required and reports accidents and incidents, and provides | | nursing functions as directed by supervisor. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Safety, Sanitation and Infection Control: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Understands and follows safety, sanitation and infection control | | policy and procedures, to include but not limited to proper hand | | washing, proper wearing of masks and gloves and promptly reports any | | | | violations to supervisor. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | In-service and continuing education: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Attend orientation and in-service as required by the state. Completes | | all required on-line education | | | | as deemed necessary by the state and the facility. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Resident Rights and relationships: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding | | residents rights. | | | | romotes positive relationships with residents, visitors and | | government regulators, to include presenting a professional | | appearance and attitude. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Other Job Functions: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Support Function | | | | : | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of residents. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Staff Development: | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Attend and participate in training, educational activities and staff | | meetings; assist with orientation and training other staff. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+

Works in | | an office and throughout the building daily. Has Category 1 risk of | | exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in handwashing | | practices and Universal Precautions and has access to personal | | protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated. Is subject to | | interruptions, noise, and odors daily | | | | | | | | Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand | | coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, | | tastes and temperatures, ability to communicate with residents and | | employees, ability to understand and follow training, ability to | | instruct staff in service education, and the ability to remain calm | | under stress. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
