Summary: This position works as part of a Quality Assurance Inspection team having responsibility for using precision mechanical inspection tools and equipment to inspect highly diversified mechanical parts and components to very close tolerances. The incumbents are required to perform precise, routine inspection measurement tasks with little supervision upon completion of training. Core Duties:

  • Comply with all EHS Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, finished, and first article inspections of fabricated parts or assemblies to verify quality and adherence to the technical specifications on a drawing.
  • Generate required inspection data and/or documents accurately.
  • Navigate and enter data accurately using Microsoft Excel.
  • Document and communicate inspection and testing results in both oral and written formats.
  • Maintain inspection tools, equipment, tooling and accessories.
  • Keep the daily workload organized to utilize inspection resources efficiently.
  • Work with engineers when inspection data is questionable or observing excess variation.
  • Attach or physically mark part identification numbers onto products or containers.
  • Identify and target errors and/or variations to measurement processes.

Requirements:

  • Presents positive impact within the Quality Assurance Inspection team and other work groups.
  • Ability to receive and follow work instructions precisely while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use and read precision mechanical inspection tools and equipment.
  • Continuously develop skills through training, observation, and/or additional education.
