Ohio University Assistant Professor of Instruction - Division of Food and Nutrition Sciences, Non-tenure track in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

Ohio University School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness, Division of Food and Nutrition Sciences seeks applications and nominations for a 9-month non-tenure track Instructional Faculty position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and/or graduate courses for the Division of Food and Nutrition Sciences. The candidate will also mentor students and serve on School, College, and University committees. The preferred candidate will have a commitment to contributing to the diversity in the college. The candidate will demonstrate diversity of education experiences incorporating a broad range of teaching strategies which engage students as active participants and involvement in professional organizations related to food and nutrition sciences.

This position has an expectation of 80% teaching and 20% service.

Ohio University is a doctoral/research intensive state university with 23,000 students on its picturesque Athens campus and another 8,500 students on six regional and extension campuses. The Division of Food and Nutrition Sciences is within the School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness in the College of Health Sciences and Professions (https://www.ohio.edu/chsp/).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Earned Master’s degree.

  2. Credentials: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed Dietitian (LD)

  3. Evidence of successful teaching in a higher education food and nutrition sciences setting.

  4. Minimum of 7 years professional work experience in the food and nutrition sciences field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Clinical work experiences as a Registered Dietitian

  2. Extended Care Facility work experience.

  3. Experience teaching in-person and online Food and Nutrition courses. Preference will be given to candidates that can teach a variety of Food and Nutrition Sciences courses and to those with experience teaching medical nutrition therapy.

  4. Evidence of successful advising, mentorship, and supervision of students in a higher education setting.
